A performancetest is used to collect load and performance test specific items.

These are:

  • Robots are the generator of load. This could be a protocol call or even a web scenario
  • Probes measure specific values like response time, CPU load, memory usage, etc.
  • Test-Harness control the execution of the load and performance test. A typical control scenario increases the load successively by starting more robots incrementally, up to a given limit. Then, at full load, the test runs for a while, after which all robots are stopped.

Predefined robots, probes and test harness are provided as standard blocks to cover most standard test tasks. However, you can define your own for specific tasks; for example, for special workloads or to start robots via some triggering mechanism.
